A couple of questions for gp35fn: 1) Have you seen this vintage with the serial number on the "far" side of the barrel? 2) What year of manufacture would this be? |

| Ebeeby nice collection-the left side barrel serial number has been used by FN on most pre-war Hi Powers and those made by FN from 1945 to the 1960's, your Austrian is a LGK B which is Landes Gendarmerie Kommando (rural police force) Burgenland the county-this is one of the more uncommon versions of the Austian police contracts-seems to be mid 1950's (I'd need to see more of the HPs markings to narrow it). On your Nazi HP post up it's markings and I may be able to get a I.D. for you. |

| Olympus Sylus Tough (waterproof) pocket camera - probably on the wrong settings as I had to throw away 5 photos for every 1 good one. If the damn thing had a clock on it, it would be flashing 12:00 |

Ebeeby,
Well, the ones you posted turned out really well. I read somewhere a famous photographer said he that if he kept one out of 20 he was happy. Nice job! Cordially, -Burgs |

I fired the Austrian Police this weekend and it performed flawlessly. A good shooter. But I blew my pistol budget on a Sig p210. It looks to be new in the box and came with a numbered to the gun .22 conversion. It is interesting that the HP doubles the slide contact area over the 1911, and the Sig p210 doubles the contact area of the HP. I think it is the denouement of John Browning's efforts. The accuracy of the 210 is simply astonishing. |
