Just got the firing pin retaining plate broken !! I had the chance that a good gunsmith made me the same piece, but I dont feel good with something not original from the pistol !!
I just asked for the original piece that costs like 9 or 10 dollars, in internet, and I have to wait a few days !
What would you recommend or suggest ?

Thanks !!

It's a matter of confidence. If you don't trust the gunsmith to make a reliable replacement then order the part.

I trust the gunsmith, but maybe its better the original piece, I will order it, thanks !
Is there any option that recharged ammo or cartridges,of someone that knows how to do it, affect or can damage the pistol ?
Lots of people tell me that I should shoot just original bullets, how about that ? We all know that the HP is an exc. gun !
Of course if we shoot a lot, we should replace pieces sometime.

There is a guy who is a member here. He sells replacement plates on eBay. His are machined from bar stock. I have a couple. I love them. I replaced all the stock ones on my guns, and keep a couple extras just in case.

I can't. I have 18 posts not counting this one. You have 10. So neither one of us can do it because we "don't have enough posts to send email to other members." And I don't see a Private Message function on this forum. I've looked in the FAQ and Help sections but can't find the Magic Number.

The only ways around it I see are:

1. Flood the board with meaningless posts until I hit The Number
2. Publish my email and get spammed

Neither of which I'm about to do. Ridiculous. We'll have to let it go.

Hello, LenB. Were I in your position, I'd just use the email address provided by fnhpparts and contact him via my own email.
I looked around and found the information on post count for you:

Best.
